About
The ZTE NextGen 5G Hackathon 2024, co-hosted by Multimedia University (MMU) and ZTE, aims to uncover innovative solutions for real-world challenges. Themed "Empowering Efficiency, Safety, and Mobility through 5G-enabled solutions," the hackathon begins with an online preliminary round for project submissions. The top 10 teams will progress to the final round at MMU Cyberjaya, where they will refine their projects by connecting to MMU's private 5G SA campus network.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
A commitment deposit of RM 100 per team is required. If your team has successfully entered the final round, the deposit will be refunded after the final round is completed. Else, your deposit will be refunded after the top 10 announcement has been made within 14 working days.

No. However participants may travel to MMU Cyberjaya using the MRT Putrajaya Line via MRT Cyberjaya City Center/MRT Cyberjaya Utara Station
All students in Malaysian Universities are allowed regardless of their nationality.
Yes. There is no restriction as long as all members are students in Malaysia Universities
Yes, however you will lose marks on the hardware part. If you are eligible for the final round, you need to have 5G elements in your project. You may opt for:
No. Only the 5G Hat is provided. It is intended for projects using Raspberry Pi to connect to the 5G network seamlessly.
Yes, we have prepared a backup solution for WiFi based projects through a 5G WiFi router. Your device may connect to it during the final round just as you would to connect to any WiFi networks. However, you will be have lowered marks in the 5G section as per the judging rubrics.
